Mirror Wall Art Minis Packaging Improvements!

Today is the day for improving some of our product packaging!

Even though our packaging is practical, I will say that it may not always be the prettiest. This is something we have been meaning to focus on for awhile, but of course like everything in business, you never have enough time! So lets see how far we get today.

At the moment I am working on our wall art minis, they are a compact size and pretty hardy but I would like to order some nice little boxes for them to sit in. Our wall art minis are popular with tourists so they need to be packaged well for travel. Currently we use good ole trusty bubble wrap, but again not the best gift wrapping! A nice white box with our business information will be much better suited. Always include your business information.

With the new packaging upgrades I would like to be able to add a little something extra, go that extra mile. So I am including a little customized tag which shows what the wall art minis can symbolize.
I.e. For our star sign wall art minis, I have included the symbol, dates and personality traits for that star sign. I think this small inclusion will increase the value of the product and make a more personalized gift!

Our Mirror Wall Art Minis with personalized tag.

EARTH HOUR!

https://earthhour.org.au/home/Hi Everyone,

Tonight is Earth Hour again and I ask you all to participate with me!

Earth Hour is an annual worldwide event organized by WWF. It began in Sydney 2007 with the aim of improving environmental awareness on the issue of global warming. Overtime it has grown into a global phenomenon with over 162 countries and 7000+ cities and towns worldwide participating.

This year Earth Hour in Australia is all about Aussie food and farmers. The effect of global warming on the Australian food industry is increasing, but show your support for the future of our Aussie home grown food industry by switching off for an hour from 8.30pm Saturday 28th March. By switching off as many electronic devices as possible (lights, phones, tv, computers etc) you are helping to conserve energy consumption and therefore reduce the impacts of global warming.

It may seem like a small contribution, but the more that participate the bigger the impact. Our combined efforts are not a silver bullet to the increasing issues of global warming and climate change, but they are an action to show we care and are genuinely interested in trying to help build a sustainable future.

So come on help make a difference!

Tropical North QLD - Cairns

Another day in paradise!

Just thought I would share with you all some beautiful pics of our home here in tropical north QLD, Australia. Although we have tropical cyclone Nathan heading in our direction, the sun is still shining (for now) and Cairns is as beautiful as ever!

While people prepare and start battening down the hatches, I am motivated to make the most of this wonderful weather and create something beautiful today!

A spectacular photo taken by my talented man as here flies over the islands just out of Cairns.

Hope this motivates you all, like it does us here @ Glass Obsessions.

Tye Dye Cotton Cushions

Need to add a little colour to the room? Brighten a space? Add some pizazz to your home?
Anyone who has ever seen an episode of Selling Houses Australia on the Lifestyle Channel will know that CUSHIONS are the answer!

A great cushion can really lift the feel of a room but the right cushion can transform a room.

Finally, after a lot of trial an error, mum has finally got her sewing groove back. She has been working hard to create something new and exciting to showcase on our trendy online store.

We picked out this beautiful new fabric. It's tye dye cotton and is available in teal, pink and purple or orange and blue with a butterfly print.

I absolutely love them! Mum has done a great job.

Our cushion covers have a zip to make them easy to wash and come made with love! A fabulous addition to any home - Get Yours TODAY online @ Glass Obsessions!

Soy candles in recycled beer bottles

I love the idea of recycling!
There is something about taking an old and used thing, finding it a new purpose and turning it into something new and fresh. I will admit I am abit of an eco buff, and I probably don't do as much recycling as I should, but I do enjoy feeling like I am doing my part for the environment when I create a product from something recycled.

I decided to take my love for the environment a step further and create recycled beer bottle soy candles. Using empty beer bottles, I cut and polished them into the perfect soy wax container. I scented my wax with natural vanilla essential oil and hand poured the wax into my recycled containers and designed a personalized label to make them a little something different!

Soy wax is made from soybean oil, which means it is all natural and great for the environment and your health!  Our eco-friendly candle range is long-lasting and will burn clean!

Vision boards!

Last year I read numerous articles telling me about the POWER of vision boards. For those that don't know, a vision board is basically a collage (in any form, I have done mine on the computer but many cut and glue theirs together) of all things important to you and your future. Anything you would like to attract in your life or visualize for your future. Pretty much anything that inspires you to create the life you want to live.

So one evening I thought it would be a fun activity to give it a go.

This was my vision board for 2014.

I added all kinds of affirmations, quotes and inspiring photos. My vision board was for my future, there was no set date as to when I had to accomplish these things, just a visual board of all the things I aim to accomplish.

As you can see there is a lot of focus on fitness, travel, BIG milestones like getting married, buying a house and starting a family. Then there are reminders like to relax more, get out in the great outdoors and of course things I would like to do or buy.

Well we are in 2015 now and I have to say, I think this process of visualizing my future has really worked for me. We are only in March and I am about to move into the first home that I actually own, I am getting married in May, I am still very focused on fitness (I work out more than I ever have in my life), I am about to embark on a beautiful honeymoon to Greece and I bought that new couch. Not bad aye!

Trust me, I am not a bragging sort of person, but I really wanted to share with the world that the POWER of vision boards could actually work for you as well as it has for me. There are still many things on my vision board left to accomplish, but I am more determined and motivated than ever to get there. It is a great feeling to be able to look at a board filled with my hopes and dreams and tick some of them off and say "Hey, I have actually done that!".

I think everyone should have goals of some kind, and why not paste it all on a big collage so you can look at it everyday and MAKE IT HAPPEN!

Go on everyone give it a go!

Feel free to share your vision boards and accomplishments with us - it feels great!
